Upon the completion of his military service, Dr. Okuda decided to pursue his true passion for orthodontics at Jacksonville University in Florida. There, he did his orthodontic residency to become a certified specialist in orthodontics and received a Master of Science in Clinical Orthodontics. Dr. Okuda’s master’s thesis, “Direct to consumer orthodontics: Exploring patient demographic trends and preferences,” was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Okuda also took the extra, voluntary step of becoming a board-certified orthodontist, the highest certification in the field.
